¿Qué es un terapeuta cognitivo conductual de TCC?

Los miembros del equipo de ABI RESOURCES siguen las directivas de los terapeutas cognitivo-conductuales de CBT. Muchos sobrevivientes de lesiones cerebrales sufren problemas de memoria y pueden beneficiarse si un miembro del equipo los acompaña durante las sesiones de TCC. El miembro del equipo puede abordar inquietudes y comportamientos actuales y ayudar a implementar las directivas de la TCC.

La terapia cognitivo-conductual (TCC) es una forma de psicoterapia que trata problemas y aumenta la felicidad modificando emociones, comportamientos y pensamientos disfuncionales. La TCC se centra en soluciones, animando a los pacientes a desafiar las cogniciones distorsionadas y cambiar patrones de comportamiento destructivos. La TCC se centra en el desarrollo de estrategias personales de afrontamiento que apuntan a resolver problemas actuales y cambiar patrones inútiles en las cogniciones (por ejemplo, pensamientos, creencias y actitudes), conductas y regulación emocional. La TCC es una forma de terapia "centrada en el problema" y "orientada a la acción". El papel del terapeuta es ayudar al cliente a encontrar y practicar estrategias efectivas para abordar los objetivos identificados y disminuir los síntomas del trastorno. La TCC se basa en la creencia de que las distorsiones del pensamiento y las conductas desadaptativas desempeñan un papel en el desarrollo y mantenimiento de los trastornos psicológicos y que los síntomas y la angustia asociada pueden reducirse enseñando nuevas habilidades de procesamiento de información y mecanismos de afrontamiento.
